Skatepark · Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
read at 18:00 local · weather: open-meteo
A big concrete park on the west side of Hastings Park, between the PNE Forum and the Italian Gardens, with three connected bowls (the deep end runs about 11 feet) and a small street area. It has hosted contests including the Vans Park Series.
Heads up · Street parking around the PNE grounds is restricted, so use PNE parking; the bowls fill up on dry summer evenings.

How the read works
We track the water on the ground hour by hour, starting two days back. Rain adds to it; sun, wind and dry air take it away (the forecast's evaporation figure, which folds all three together); frost locks it in. Concrete sheds most of a downpour and dries in a couple of hours on a good day. Dirt soaks it up and takes a day or more, and riding it while it's mud ruts it. It's a model, not a camera: shady corners and the bottom of a bowl hold water longer. Weather from Open-Meteo.
