Ride report
🇺🇸Rio Grande Skatepark
Skatepark · Aspen, Colorado, United States
read at 19:00 local · weather: open-meteo
Team Pain built this downtown Aspen park with the city in 2000: 17,000 sq ft of big and small bowls, a spine ramp and a 10-foot vert wall with pool coping, and Westword once ranked it third in its Colorado top ten.
Heads up · Mountain-town park: snow closes it in winter, so plan on the late-spring-to-fall season.

How the read works
We track the water on the ground hour by hour, starting two days back. Rain adds to it; sun, wind and dry air take it away (the forecast's evaporation figure, which folds all three together); frost locks it in. Concrete sheds most of a downpour and dries in a couple of hours on a good day. Dirt soaks it up and takes a day or more, and riding it while it's mud ruts it. It's a model, not a camera: shady corners and the bottom of a bowl hold water longer. Weather from Open-Meteo.
