Opened in 1979 as Florida's first public skatepark, the Bro Bowl became the first skatepark listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places (2013); the original was demolished in the park's renovation and replaced by a new bowl closely modelled on it.

Heads up · Banked 1970s-style shapes reward carving more than tech tricks; go early or late to avoid the midday heat.

Bring

  • Gusts 47 km/h → keep it low, and watch your board on the deck
  • Always → a helmet (required at many parks and every track), and pads for transition and dirt
  • After dark → we don't know if it's lit; bring a light

How the read works

We track the water on the ground hour by hour, starting two days back. Rain adds to it; sun, wind and dry air take it away (the forecast's evaporation figure, which folds all three together); frost locks it in. Concrete sheds most of a downpour and dries in a couple of hours on a good day. Dirt soaks it up and takes a day or more, and riding it while it's mud ruts it. It's a model, not a camera: shady corners and the bottom of a bowl hold water longer. Weather from Open-Meteo.
